The purpose of the in-class Bible Lesson is to challenge kids to know and study the Word of God. Lessons are designed for a teacher-led classroom, where teachers guide their students through Scripture. Over the course of three years, students will work their way through the Bible!
All Bible Lessons follow the 4 Rights structure and come straight out of God’s Word, the Bible. Most Bible Lessons focus on one Scripture passage, but there are some topical lessons woven into the Scope & Sequence (typically on holidays). Elementary teachers should read directly from their Bible every lesson, and Preschool and Runners teachers should teach with their Bibles open even when paraphrasing.
One key role of the Lead Teacher is to “bring the Bible to life” for kids! Using props and other creative ideas, they can help make Scripture come alive for the students in their class.
